Dr Chris RogersMBBS, FRANZCO, FRACS![]() Dr Christopher Rogers is a corneal specialist. He has a special interest in laser refractive surgery and brought the first excimer laser used for refractive surgery into Australia in 1991.
Dr Rogers is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, and an Emeritus Consultant at The Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. He is a past Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Mater Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospitals. He has served as Chairman of the Contact Lens Committee of the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists and Chairman of the Corneal Transplanting Surgeons Committee, and is a former Clinical Lecturer in Ophthalmology at the University of Sydney. Dr Rogers has served on the Advocacy Committee of the International Society of Refractive Surgery. For 15 years he was the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists representative to ACCORD (The Australian Council for the Coordination of Research and Donation). Dr Rogers has published over 40 scientific articles and lectured widely both domestically and internationally on the subject of refractive surgery. Dr Rogers is Alternate Director on the Board of Vision Group Australia. He is currently on the Global Medical Advisory Board of AMO, makers of IntraLase, and is an advisor to various laser companies. Dr Rogers provides his specialist services at Vision Eye Institute, Chatswood. |
